This old-fashioned word of painting is clear. It is this being men with our bodies and senses, with our souls. Giving a meaning to the world also in the absence of a “sense”. In Carlo Fantauzzi’s case, the sense of the “sound”, the hearing is “to hear with the eyes” in total perception of totality. According to him, painting is the path to the Being and the images is the rhythm of music, that gives back the Being to the world. The absolute totality of the Being has non senses and it is linked in just one sense.

He walks through the paths of the wood at his Arpinon there is an Arpino in everybody’s life even if it has another name. He lives the emotion of sound as music in those effect of light that transfigure the matter and dissolve it in color. The soul evekes silence without the mediation of “senses” in this atmosphere, as in a dream without words. Thus, it can evoke a State, that is State of grace, and gives shapes o the dreams, to the mystery and to the secret of life. <<The Artist, sometimes danderously, gets to the heart of the depths of the world and of the psyche…>>.

The desperate effect of getting rid of the “surface” of things and penetrating the matter to disclose the utmast structures, the Being.

A serius crisis seems heavily to point at the passing of the Millennium, of the man and of his destiny, of art and of Aesthetics, of painting in a more direct way. It is “terminal” condition, it is the last state and announcement of death. The quest about the “sense” becomes grieving and the doubt is already fear and foreboding of uselessness in beong self-confident in difficulties. Man’s destiny is involved in this civilization of technique, or maybe it is better to talk only of society of technique and future of Art.

We believe that the technique has to be what has always been, a means of the man and not an autonomaus power to dominate him. We believe that painting and art can fulfil their function in this process, even with more necessity. In this perspective, we have seen Carlo Fantauzzi’s work. According to him, painting has absolute value and be can transmit us its extraordinary power of truth. When Deiderot wants to explain nature in the painting, he pretends to write his “Letter to deaf”, because blind people, that perceiv’e colours through the skin and talk through the eyes, drives us in finding again our individuality, the absolute reality and totality of the Being.
